Sabah

Sabah is the second largest state in Malaysia, covering 74,500 sq km. This is also one of the two Malaysian states on Borneo island. Sipadan island in the south-east coast near the island of Sabah, is one of five diving sites in the world for many years. This is because under the unique geography that encourages proliferation of wildlife. Leatherback turtles, chandra and white tipped sharks are common views while diving in Sipadan.

Sabah has been a hot humid climate with temperatures below 30C rarely dipping in the afternoon. The rainy season began in November, with the start of the monsoon in the northeast of Peninsular Malaysia and the end of April, with most rain falling in the month of January.

The main gateway to Sabah is through the air via Kota Kinabalu airports (both international and the budget terminal), which is about 20 minutes south of the central part of the state capital, where most commercial and administrative activities are concentrated. Kota Kinabalu is the departure point for the island is very beautiful and popular in offshore Sabah.
